What your legs might need
No two legs need the same thing. Yours will decide which.
Duplex ultrasound
Before anything is decided, you will know exactly what is happening in your leg.
Sclerotherapy
One injection closes a vein that has been bothering you, and your body takes care of the rest.
Foam sclerotherapy
The larger veins, the kind that once meant an operation, do not have to anymore.
Endovenous laser
A local anaesthetic and one small puncture. Nothing is stripped out.
Phlebectomy
The rope-like veins under your skin come out through small openings, with nothing to stitch.
Hand & facial veins
Rarely treated in Lebanon. If yours have bothered you, they have been treated here since 2010.

Most likely not. Most of the legs I see are closed with an injection or a laser, under local anaesthetic, and you walk out the same day. Surgery is the exception now, not the rule.

The needle is very fine and most people describe a small sting. You stay awake, there is no general anaesthetic, and you leave on your own two legs. Expect some bruising along the vein for a week or two.

A vein that has been properly closed does not come back. Your body absorbs it. New veins can appear elsewhere over the years, which is why the follow-up matters, and why pregnancy is the most common reason they return.

Yes, but not the same week. Treated skin marks easily in strong sun for the first few weeks, and that is what causes the brown staining people complain about afterwards. Give it time, keep the area covered, and I will tell you when your leg is ready for the sea.

Yes. Most people are back at work the same day or the next. If you are on your feet all day, compression makes the difference, and standing still is harder on a leg than walking is.

Walking straight away, and it helps. Heavy lifting, hot yoga, sauna and long hot baths wait a little longer, because heat opens veins. You will be told the exact window for what your leg had done.

Short flights, usually soon. Long-haul is worth planning around, and if you are flying in from abroad for treatment we agree the sequence before you book. Compression on the flight either way.

It depends on what your leg actually needs and how many sessions, and that is only known after the scan. The first visit includes the scan and an exact quote, before anything is decided.

The scan takes fifteen to twenty minutes. An injection session, twenty to thirty. The laser, forty-five to sixty. All of it in the clinic, all under local anaesthetic.

Usually not. Aching, heaviness, swelling and cramps at night are symptoms, not vanity. And veins left alone tend to get slowly worse rather than better.
